TRAVEL TOURNEYS
How travel works at MadFrog...
FLIGHTS:
-
Parents book them yourselves. For arrivals always book the day before or earlier, for departures always book flights after 6pm.
HOTEL:
-
The club's travel coordinator will secure the room block at each hotel for all of the teams who are playing in that tournament.
-
The travel coordinator will communicate instructions for booking (location, dates, booking deadline) with the team parent who will post this information on Group Me.
-
Parents book your own hotel room using the booking link supplied by the team parent.

UNIFORM INFO
National qualifier tourneys always require the girls to wear the EXACT same uniform and USA Volleyball has a lot of regulations.
-
Please only wear your Madfrog team wear that was purchased in the uniform package and ensure you travel with ALL 5 jerseys in your backpack at all times.
-
All girls will be required to wear the same spandex, socks, uniform and at any time we could be asked to change uniform tops.
-
Teams have been disqualified for not adhering to the uniform regulations.
FLIGHT INFO
Madfrog does not handle booking flights, each family is responsible for making their own reservations. The team parent will work with the coach to determine the arrival and departure times.
-
All national qualifiers are three day events.
-
You will need to plan to fly into the city the day before play starts and fly out on the last day of play. It is strongly recommended that you book your arrival flight to tournaments to arrive by 10 p.m. the day before the first day of play, and if possible, don’t choose the last flight out of Dallas. We have had several situations over the past few seasons where the last flight was cancelled due to weather or mechanical issues, causing some of the team to not arrive in time for the first day of the tournament.
-
For the return flight home, do not book before 6 p.m on the last day of play, as almost every tournament runs behind on the final day of bracket play.
-
If your team is playing in Spokane — you will need to stay an extra night and fly out the following morning due to the tournament schedule and flight schedules. There are no flights out of Spokane later than 4:00 pm on the last day of play.
-
I highly suggest that any flight you book is a refundable flight just in case the tournament is cancelled or rescheduled due to Covid-19.
HOTEL INFO
Every travel tournament we are participating in this year is a Stay and Play event, which means each member of the team must stay in the hotel rooms we’ve contracted in order to be eligible to play in the tournament. Parents may not book separate hotel rooms on their own.
-
Arrival time for the team will be determined by the coach and communicated by the team parent. Some coaches like to have a team meeting or dinner the night before play.
-
There are very few hotels that offer breakfast, and we rarely will be at those hotels. As an FYI, if we have an AM pool the chances of being able to take advantage of the breakfast is rare.
-
We are always booked at hotels that are clean, safe and a 3 star or above. Housing companies negotiate a block of rooms for tourneys, but it’s not the entire hotel. So while you may go online and see availability, it’s not available within our block.
-
The dates that are provided, are the only dates that parents can request rooms. If they want pre-or post-dates they will need to request it directly from the hotel. This cannot happen until housing submits the rooming list to the hotel, which is not until a couple of weeks prior to arrival.
-
Some of the hotels will charge the parents one night stay prior to arrival. This can happen anytime from now until arrival, depending on the tourney.
-
All players will stay in a room with their parents. There will be no team rooms. If any individuals on your team plan to share a room for any of the tournaments, please let me know by September 10, 2022 via email so I can communicate with the travel coordinator so she can plan room blocks accordingly. Also, if you need extra rooms for siblings, family members, etc. please let me know via email. Players may NOT stay in a room by themselves or with another player unless there is a parent in the room.
-
Lone Star-Dallas is a local tourney, (stay and play does not apply) you are on your own if you want to book a downtown hotel.
USAV Nationals
2023-2024 USAV Girls Junior National Championship (GJNC) will take place in Vegas, NV over the course of 9 days (July 3 - July 11). The dates for our games are July 8th - 11th.
-
Once the lottery takes place and based on those results, we will have a good idea of where our hotels will be located. While everyone would prefer to be downtown and/or close to the Convention Center our hotel will depend on our lottery number.
-
As soon as the travel coordinator receives the information for our team I will communicate to everyone our hotel details, which will need to be booked after we qualify.
